Grading System
BILLY YATES
Position: OG
Class: Sr
School: Texas A&M
Conference: Big 12
Ht., Wt.: 6'1, 287
40 Time: 5.23
Grade: 2.92

BIO: Versatile lineman and starter at both guard positions the past two seasons. Pointedly called one of the most consistent members of A&M offensive front line since 2001.

POSITIVES: Fundamentally sound blocker best in confined quarters. Breaks down well, keeps his pad level low and stays square. Strong at the point, jolts defenders with his hands then rides them from their angle of attack. Keeps his feet moving, stays with the play and works to finish off opponents.

NEGATIVES: Must improve his overall strength and has trouble opening holes for the running game. A bit stiff and not effective in space. Has a history of injury concerns.

ANALYSIS: Durability and growth potential questions may hamper him at the next level but a fundamentally sound lineman who plays a smart brand of football.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
