BIO: Second-team All-Conference choice as a senior after totaling 26 tackles, two INTs and five pass defenses. Played exclusively on both sides of the ball as a junior, registering 19-1-2 on defense with six receptions for 134 yards as a receiver, garnering Honorable Mention All Big 12 honors. Third-team All-League as a sophomore, after starting 12 games at receiver and posting 39-573-5.
POSITIVES: Naturally gifted prospect who needs to develop the finer points of his game. Fluid transitioning off the line, positions himself to make a play against the ball and reads the action. Runs well laterally, displays a nice sense of timing and uses his frame as an advantage battling to defend the throw. Redirects nicely and adjusts well in mid air to deflect away the pass.
NEGATIVES: Hesitant reacting to receivers off the line, plays back on his heels and lacks the ability to plant and quickly break on the ball. Turned in a terrible week of practice at the Senior Bowl.
ANALYSIS: A lot of upside potential but may not be as good as his headlines would dictate. Needs a lot of work and repetition in the secondary which means it may take time before he breaks into a starting lineup. Still, a solid prospect at either cornerback or safety.
