BIO: All-Conference selection as a senior totaling 287 carries for 1,884 yards with 15 scores, placing him second in the league for rushing. Also caught 35 passes for 264 yards with three additional scores. Junior totals were 182-884-9 on the ground with 55-448-2 as a pass catcher, again winning All-Conference honors. Sophomore totals were 189-783-16 as a ball carrier and 45-406-0 catching the ball when he initially was a Big 12 first team pick. Multi-time Big 12 Academic selection.
POSITIVES: Compact runner productive when the ball is in his hands. Runs low to the ground, gets lost behind blockers and weaves his way through the traffic. Displays vision, a burst through the hole and also a patient runner shifty in the open field. Sets up defenders and makes them miss or cuts back against the grain avoiding piles. Plays with balance, instinct and always working to finish the play.
NEGATIVES: Lacks the open field speed or ability to run to daylight. Put up big numbers in college but had the benefit of playing in a spread offense.
ANALYSIS: In many ways reminds us of Amos Zereoue, former West Virginia runner now with the Steelers, though Griffin may not be as explosive. Solid situational runner or third down back at the next level.
