BIO: Former walk-on who went on to be one of the most prolific runners in Boise State history. WAC Offensive Player of the Year last season after carrying the ball 295 times for 1,611 yards with 26 TDs and catching 36 passes for 282 yards with six more scores. Led the conference in rushing, all purpose yards and scoring, numbers which put him on several All-America teams. First-team All-Conference selection as a junior after totaling 246-1,207-13 on the ground and 35-369-3 as a receiver. Also averaged 21.5 yards on 17 kick returns. Second-team All-Conference selection as a sophomore after 914 yards rushing with 23 receptions for 399 yards. MVP of the Humanitarian Bowl as a red-shirt freshman in 1999.
POSITIVES: Hard working, productive ball handler who will find a spot at the next level. Patient carrying the ball, displays outstanding running instincts and squirms through the small holes in the defense. Sees the field, quickly finds the running lanes and immediately gets through them, working his runs and grinding out the extra yardage. Runs with forward lean, quick footed and offers a slashing style which enables him to slide off blocks. Shows some avoidability carrying the ball but also tough and lays his shoulders into defenders. Comes back to the QB and helps out as a receiver displaying solid, reliable hands. Also impacts as a return specialist.
NEGATIVES: Lacks the speed to get outside around the corner or run to daylight. Not overly elusive or a ball carrier that creates if nothing is available.
ANALYSIS: Does not pass the eyeball test but rather a smart football player that always found the way to get the job done. Tenacity, coupled with his intelligence and approach will endear him to a coaches heart, making it difficult to keep him off a roster at the next level.
PROJECTION: Mid Seventh Round
