MONTRELL LOWE
Position: HB
Class: Sr
School: Purdue
Conference: Big Ten
Ht., Wt.: 5'7, 190
40 Time: 4.68
Grade: 3.04

BIO: Former feature back who barely saw the field in 2002. Played only six games last season carrying the ball 30 times for 169 yards and did not account for a score. Started 10 games as a junior and led the team with 183 carries for 640 yards and four rushing scores. Posted career numbers as a sophomore with 226-998-6 on the ground.

POSITIVES: Hard working runner who gives top effort. Runs low to the ground, shifty and keeps his feet moving forwards. Quickly cuts it back making defenders miss and has a darting style in traffic. Displays a burst through the hole and always working to pick up positive yardage.

NEGATIVES: Not a nifty or nimble runner and lacks the great footwork you expect in a small back. Not picking up much yardage off initial contact, rarely used as a receiver out of the backfield and though he gives effort blocking, the results are minimal.

ANALYSIS: Lowe needed a big season as a senior but most importantly had to prove his versatility to be considered as a third down back at the next level. Never happened as he spent more time on the sidelines than he did on the playing field and as a result a marginal free agent signing as of now.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
