RALPH TURNER
Position: S
Class: Sr
School: Purdue
Conference: Big Ten
Ht., Wt.: 6'1, 215
40 Time: 4.62
Grade: 2.96

BIO: Played extensively with the first unit since he was a red-shirt freshman and totaled 69 tackles with six tackles for loss and one sack last season. Junior totals were 45-4-0 after 65-10-4 the prior year.

POSITIVES: Nice-sized safety who looks the part yet does not always play to it. Quick moving up the field to defend running plays or screens, takes good angles to the action and squares into tackles. Pick up pass cover assignments and displays a solid back pedal.

NEGATIVES: Has difficulty in man coverage, not fluid in his hips and slow transitioning off the line. Game lacks overall quickness, explosion, as well as closing or recovery speed.

ANALYSIS: Best defending the run as his stats would dictate and efficient when the ball is in the air. Most effective as a strong safety and better in confined quarters.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
