ART SMITH
Position: CB
Class: Sr
School: Northeastern
Conference: Atlantic 10
Ht., Wt.: 6'0½, 195
40 Time: 4.63
Grade: 3.22

BIO: Two-year starter and All-Conference selection both his junior and senior campaigns. Finished last season with 56-2-7 after 41-7-8 the prior season when he scored a pair of defensive TDs.

POSITIVES: Athletic cornerback with the size-speed numbers scouts desire. Fluid turning to run with opponents off the line of scrimmage, displays decent footwork and solid coverage techniques. Possesses an explosive burst of closing and recovery speed with the ability to defend the throws in contorted positions. Has opposing QBs looking the other way.

NEGATIVES: Not overly aggressive, lets opponents freely release from the line of scrimmage and not always willing to throw his body around defending the run.

ANALYSIS: Based on his computer numbers should be more active than he really is. Did not take his game to the next level as a senior nor does he give you the idea he'd flourish as a nickel back who can play special teams at the next level.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
