BIO: Junior-eligible who leaves college after winning the 2002 Outland Trophy, presented to the nation's best interior lineman. Named to several All-America teams last season and finished with 52 tackles, 21 1/2 tackles for loss and three sacks. Started 12 games as a sophomore posting 33-10-3 after 15-5-1 the prior season when he started four games. Used in a rotational system at Washington State.
POSITIVES: Tough interior lineman who gives top effort until the whistle blows. Quick off the snap, solid hand technician and strong. Drives up the field, bull rushing opponents off the line and shows a short burst of speed. Smart, immediately recognizes the action or finds the ball. Relentless and keeps going, working hard to make something positive happen.
NEGATIVES: Marginal athlete and game lacks overall explosion. Handled by a single blocker, stood up at the line or easily knocked off balance. Best in a straight line, lacks a fluid change of direction and does not redirect well. On the ground to much.
ANALYSIS: Solid college player but not as good as his headlines. Regardless of his stats best stuffing the run and may not hold the great upside for the next level.
