MARCUS MERRIWEATHER
Position: HB
Class: Sr
School: Ball St.
Conference: MAC
Ht., Wt.: 6'2, 215
40 Time: 4.65
Grade: 3.37

BIO: Team's leading ground gainer the past three seasons, breaking the century mark Carrying the ball every year since his sophomore campaign. All-Conference selection as a senior with 332 rushing attempts for 1,618 yards, plus 12 scores and catching 22 passes for 207 yards with another pair of TDs. Earned All-MAC honors as a junior recording 268-1,244-12 in 10 games, after compiling 225-1,004-8 as a sophomore.

POSITIVES: Nice-sized interior runner who displayed the ability to carry the offensive load since he was a sophomore. Powerful ball carrier that picks up a lot of yardage off initial contact and rarely has the first defender bring him down. Patient, displays vision and makes opponents miss in a small area or bounces it to the outside and avoids piles. Works his runs, falls forward when tackled and gains precious yardage. Looks to set up blocks, weaves his way through the traffic and adequate footwork.

NEGATIVES: Lacks quickness through the hole, has an upright style and cannot run to daylight or beat opponents to the corner. Effective blocker when he puts his mind to it but inconsistent in that area.

ANALYSIS: Poor timed speed will downgrade him but a solid short yardage runner who reminds us of Marcel Shipp, now producing for the Arizona Cardinals.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
