BIO: Two-year starter who totaled 51 tackles last season, leading the team with 17 pass breakups. Honorable mention selection in 2001 after 41 tackles, 20 pass defenses and five INTs.
POSITIVES: Nice-sized corner with a good degree of upside potential for the next level. Athletic, fluid and displays good footwork and fluid hips running with opponents. Effective backed off the line of scrimmage, recognizes the action, then quickly plants and breaks on the throw, showing a nice move on the ball. Positions himself to make plays and deflects an inordinate amount of passes away from opponents. Works to get off blocks, defend the run and squares into tackles wrapping up.
NEGATIVES: Tall, thin and not strong at the point of attack which gives him difficulties in press coverage. Hesitant turning back to the ball downfield and loses in transition running full speed.
ANALYSIS: Greatly improved his game over the past two seasons and a solid developmental prospect at the next level who should immediately be able to play as a nickel back in zone coverage.
PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
