SHANTEE ORR
Position: DE
Class: Underclassman
School: Michigan
Conference: Big Ten
Ht., Wt.: 6'1, 250
40 Time: 4.65
Grade: 3.41

BIO: Junior-eligible who totaled 24 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and six sacks last season after missing two games and being hobbled during the second half of the season with a sprained ankle. All Big 10 Honorable Mention choice the prior year after starting 11 games and posting 35-11-6. Started three games as a red-shirt freshman at linebacker and totaled 20 tackles.

POSITIVES: Explosive and athletic defender best making plays up the field. Stays low to the ground getting leverage on opponents, displays lateral range and pursues the action with speed. Immediately alters his angle of attack, quickly closes on the ball carrier and rarely off his feet. Deceptively strong and holds his ground against blocks.

NEGATIVES: Undersized and engulfed by larger blockers or handled at the point. Lacks great body control and over-pursues the action, taking himself out of the play.

ANALYSIS: Best position may be standing over tackle in a 34 defense but needs a lot of work proving he can make plays in reverse. Made an unwise choice leaving Michigan early and potentially a first day pick in 2004 but will drop into the later rounds this April.

PROJECTION: Late Sixth Round
