BIO: Starter the past two seasons after transferring from Arizona Western JC in 2001. All-Conference selection as a senior after totaling 65 tackles, two INTs and breaking up four passes. Posted 78-4-4 as a junior and winning second team All-League honors. Academic all-MWC in the past. POSITIVES: Nice-sized safety who does a good job patrolling center field for the defense. Fluid, plays sideline-to-sideline and quick to the flanks covering the pass or moving up the field to defend the run. Plays heads up football, immediately locates the action and breaks down well, redirecting nicely to the play. Possesses a closing burst of speed, strong at the point of attack and aggressively puts his shoulders to the ball carrier, wrapping up his tackles. Keeps the play in front of him and rarely caught out of position. NEGATIVES: Not an explosive or quick player, has difficulty in man-to-man coverage situations and gets beaten by smaller opponents. Really does not flash on the scene and usually a half step late arriving to the action. Will be a 26-year-old rookie. ANALYSIS: Could be an effective two deep or zone cover safety and even a nickel back who should flourish on special teams. PROJECTION: Early Fourth Round
