BIO: First-team All-Conference selection as a senior after registering 54 tackles with five tackles for loss and nine sacks. Again, all-SEC lineman as a junior after 41-5-5.5. Sustained a torn Achilles tendon in his right foot during a scrimmage in August of 2000 and sat out the season. Second-team all-SEC player as a red-shirt sophomore after 39-13-5.5. POSITIVES: Athletic and forceful defender who's improved his game the past two seasons. Plays low with leverage, fluid changing direction and moves well laterally, pursing the ball carrier from the backside. Effective in space, redirects to the ball carrier and displays good range. Fast and shows a quick burst of closing speed. NEGATIVES: Lacks the great first step off the snap. Small and moved off the ball by bigger opponents. Mentally slow and takes a while locating the action. ANALYSIS: Offers a lot of positives and abilities to work with.
