BIO: First-team All-Conference selection as a senior after posting 54 tackles with four tackles for loss and five sacks. Originally an All-League choice as a junior with numbers of 54-5-9 after 64-14-7 as a sophomore when he moved into a full-time starting position. Used at both defensive end and defensive tackle for the Tide.
POSITIVES: Hard working lineman who has always given top effort. Quick off the snap with a nice first step, drives his feet up the field and keeps coming. Rushes the edge with speed, displays a closing burst and can immediately alter his angle of attack, flat10ing then pursuing the action from the backside. Keeps his pad level low, moves well laterally and rarely off his feet. Intelligent and immediately locates the action or finds the ball.
NEGATIVES: Not big or bulky, gets caught up in the wash or handled by a single opponent at the point of attack. Takes wide rushes around blockers. Not effective off the line of scrimmage playing in space.
ANALYSIS: Tough as nails and a very disruptive lineman best served in a system that rotates its players up front and-or placed next to a wide body.
PROJECTION: Early Third Round
