MIKE PINKARD
Mike Pinkard - TE Position: TE
Class: Sr
School: Arizona St.
Conference: Pac-10
Ht., Wt.: 6'5, 259
40 Time: 4.68
Grade: 3.63

BIO: Two-year starter who played behind former first round pick Todd Heap early in his career. Had career highs of 31 receptions, 536 yards and five scores as a senior after 9-158-1 the prior year. Originally started his college career at defensive end.

POSITIVES: Strong, athletic prospect growing into a complete tight end. Effective blocker who plays with solid fundamentals, removes defenders from the line of scrimmage or easily controls opponents at the point of attack. Better blocking for the run but shows adequate skills in pass protection. Gets off jams releasing off the snap, quick into routes and a reliable target who looks to pass into his hands. Adjusts to the errant throw and makes the acrobatic catch over the middle.

NEGATIVES: Late into his blocks, does not play with top balance nor does he adjust well at the line of scrimmage. Loses focus, concentration and lets up the intensity on occasion.

ANALYSIS: Possesses the underlying skills to be an effective number one tight end at the next level and displayed them during a short stint at the Senior Bowl. Needs time to develop but if focused on the task at hand, could be starting by his second year in the league.

PROJECTION: Late Third Round
