BIO: Part time starter and previously an All-Conference selection as a return specialist. Totaled 42 tackles, five INTs and eight pass defenses as a senior, also averaging 12.2 yards on 32 punt returns, bringing two into the end zone. Junior totals were 15 tackles with one interception and a 9.0 average on 13 punt returns. 34-4-16 as a sophomore with an 18.2 average on 12 punt returns, one resulting in a touchdown. POSITIVES: Nice-sized defensive back who flashes skill as both a corner and punt returner. Displays a fluid backpedal, quickly transitions off the line and runs with receivers. Positions himself to make a play on the ball and times his pass defenses well. Box receivers out of the play with his frame, works to defend the pass and stays with the play. Displays explosion, speed and elusiveness when the ball is in his hands as a punt returner. NEGATIVES: Has difficulty backed off the line of scrimmage and hesitant reacting, which caused him to blow assignments last season. Usually a half step late arriving on the scene and does not show top corner instincts. ANALYSIS: Some ability as a bump and run cover corner but has recently struggled.
