BIO: Two-year starter who totaled 39 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, and 13 sacks, and named Pac Ten selection last year. Junior numbers were 33-17-8 after 35-13-5.5 the prior year. Recently ran a 4.62 forty weighing 262 pounds.
POSITIVES: Pass rushing specialist who could ultimately be moved to outside linebacker. Explodes off the step with a quick first step, plays with forward lean, leverage, and fast getting into the opponent’s backfield. Good athlete, quickly changes direction or alters his angle of attack and displays the ability to move laterally to the flanks, making plays against the ball carrier. Instinctive with a good head for the game and reads the action, quickly locating the play. Works his hands nicely and rarely is off his feet.
NEGATIVES: Not big or bulky, slow shedding blocks and easily moved from his angle of attack.
ANALYSIS: Best as a nickel pass rusher at first glance but could develop into a complete defensive end or outside linebacker in a three-four alignment. A 10acious athlete with the ability to make it at the next level.
PROJECTION: Early Third Round
