Selected by Detroit Lions
Round 7, pick 6 (220 overall)
BIO: Second-team All-Conference selection as a senior posting 57 tackles, six INTs and 17 pass break-ups. Reserve cornerback the prior two seasons while suffering the effects of a torn medial collateral ligament originally injured in August of 1999. Conference USA All Freshman selection in '98 after starting four games, recording 20 tackles and four INTs.

POSITIVES: Fine sized corner with excellent cover skills coming off a solid senior campaign. Good footwork moving off the line, fluid in his hips and loses nothing transitioning to run with opponents. Reads the QB, times pass defenses nicely and quickly plants on the ball, displaying a burst of closing speed. Keeps the play in front of him, comes up the field and wraps up tackling the ball carrier in run support. Works well with the safety, boxes out opponents and good ball skills.

NEGATIVES: Does not time well in the forty, slow turning back to the pass downfield and suffered a major knee injury in 1999.

ANALYSIS: Showed the cover skills last season he previously displayed as a true freshman. Gives one the idea he can play at the next level in either zone coverage or backed off the line of scrimmage, but the stability of his knee will be a big question.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
