Grading System
JOHN TURNTINE
Position: DE
Class: Sr
School: TCU
Conference: C-USA
Ht., Wt.: 6'1, 275
40 Time: 4.79
Grade: 3.22

BIO: Second-team All-Conference choice as a senior after posting 40 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, five sacks and intercepting one pass. Started nine games as a junior registering 25-2-0. Began as a linebacker in the program.

POSITIVES: Explosive lineman best making plays up the field. Quickly gets off the ball with a great first step, breaks down well and plays with leverage. Fires up the field but displays the skill to quickly alter his angle of attack and chase ball carriers from the backside. Good hand technique as well as an arm over move and blockers have difficulty adjusting to his overall quickness. Slides off blocks laterally and works hard.

NEGATIVES: Undersized, easily ridden out from his angle of attack or handled in one on one blocking situations. Cannot hold his ground if team's run directly at him.

ANALYSIS: Could be serviceable defensive end at the next level if placed in a rotational system and also offers potential on special teams.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
