BIO: Four-year starter used at both safety spots. Totaled 67 tackles as a senior and broke up two passes after 54 tackles, two INTs and three pass defenses the prior season. Sophomore totals were 64-2-5 after 73 tackles as a red-shirt freshman.
POSITIVES: Smart, cognizant center fielder with nice size. Displays a great head for the ball, quickly reading or anticipating the action, immediately picks up deep assignments and keeps the play in front of him. Fierce moving up the field to defend the run, puts his shoulders into opponents and hard hitting. Takes good angles to the action and rarely caught out of position.
NEGATIVES: Not a sudden player, lacks the closing burst of speed and usually a half step slow to the sidelines. Can back pedal in pass coverage but lacks the quick plant and break on the throw.
ANALYSIS: Knowledge for the game coupled with his 10acious play makes him a possibility as a starting safety in two deep coverage. A poor man's John McGraw.
PROJECTION: Mid Fourth Round
