RODNEY THOMAS
Position: OLB
Class: Sr
School: Clemson
Conference: ACC
Ht., Wt.: 5'11, 222
40 Time: 4.65
Grade: 3.23

BIO: Two-year starter who totaled a career best 152 tackles with seven tackles for loss and one sack as a senior. Junior numbers were 98-8-2. Outstanding special teams player early in his career.

POSITIVES: Undersized yet explosive linebacker who makes plays sideline-to-sideline. Displays footwork, lateral movement skills and has a closing burst of speed. Disciplined, picks up assignments and works to get involved in the action. Quick filling gaps, squares into tackles and wraps up. Gets adequate depth on pass drops and displays a decent back pedal.

NEGATIVES: A bit stiff, does not always take the best angles to the action and seemingly does more chasing than anticipating. Does not always play under control and shows only marginal ball skills.

ANALYSIS: The physical skills and tenacity dictate a move to strong safety but Thomas must improve his ability to make plays when the ball is in the air.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
