DERRICK BRANTLEY
Position: OT
Class: Sr
School: Clemson
Conference: ACC
Ht., Wt.: 6'4, 300
40 Time: 5.12
Grade: 3.47

BIO: Southwest Mississippi Junior College transfer who moved in with the first unit during his initial campaign at Clemson, starting 12 games in 2001. Tore a ligament in his left knee during the second game of the 2002 season against Louisiana Tech and missed the remainder of the campaign.

POSITIVES: Athletic blocker who would be effective in a variety of schemes. Breaks down well, blocks with forward lean and displays solid footwork in space. Fights with his hands, adjusts to oncoming defenders and controls opponents once engaged at the point of attack. Fluid and smooth sliding out laterally and displays good blocking range.

NEGATIVES: Not explosive into his blocks, lacks balance and plays back on his heels. Must improve the details of his game and now coming off a serious knee injury.

ANALYSIS: Coming into the season a prospect with first day potential, but the resulting injury hampered his development. On pace to be ready for the start of mini-camp and could turn into a late round gem.

PROJECTION: Early Sixth Round
