BIO: Second-team All-Conference selection as a senior after recording 59 tackles, leading the team with 13 tackles for loss and eight sacks. Started every game as a junior producing 49-11-8. Rotated into the lineup prior to 2001 and used mainly as a pass rush specialist.
POSITIVES: Explosive athlete best stood up over tackle. Quick off the snap, keeps his pads low and redirects to the action well. Reads or anticipates the play, pursues the ball carrier from the backside and displays sideline-to-sideline range. Effectively uses his hands to keep opponents away, squares into ball carriers and wraps up tackling. Solid footwork dropping into coverage or playing in space.
NEGATIVES: Lacks bulk, strength and slow shedding blocks once engaged at the point. Does not time well in the forty though he does play faster than his stop watch speed.
ANALYSIS: Productive making plays into the offensive backfield and always looks to get involved in the action. Displayed solid linebacker skills at the Combine when used during alternate position drills. Had one of the better sessions getting depth on his pass drops and showing solid ball skills. Best as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 alignment though he could eventually develop into a starting strong side defender in a 43 defense.
