BIO: First-team All-Conference selection last season after producing 61 tackles, nine tackles for loss and seven sacks. Started every game as a junior posting 34-7-0 after 36-11-7 as a sophomore when he broke into the starting line-up. Suffered a torn achilles tendon in December of 2000 preparing for the Gator Bowl. Honored several times for his considerable community service activities.
POSITIVES: Explosive athlete who can be used at several positions on the defensive line. Quickly gets off the ball with a nice first step, plays with forward lean and drives blockers up the field. Immediately alters his angle of attack, redirects to the action and displays a great closing burst of speed. Rarely off his feet, makes plays laterally and works to get involved in the action. Gives top effort and does not stop until the whistle blows.
NEGATIVES: Not a knee bender and gets tall. Lacks balance, strength and handled at the point in one-on-one blocking. Must beat opponents with his first move or he has difficulty getting by them at all.
ANALYSIS: Offers a good amount of upside potential and versatility. Can be used at defensive tackle, end or in a two gap scheme. Must improve his playing strength but a solid prospect and citizen who will be an asset to any roster.
PROJECTION: Early Second Round
