Round 7, pick 13 (227 overall)
BIO: Started 20 games the past three seasons and emerged as one of Florida's top defensive lineman in 2002 after totaling 78 tackles, six tackles for loss and 21/2 sacks. Suspended for 10 games as a junior due to violations of University and Athletic Department rules and finished the season with only four tackles. Impacted the defense in 2000 when he emerged as a starter at defensive end, totaling 39-5.5-3.5 and named to several freshman All-American and SEC All-Freshman teams. Brother Jeff was an All- American center at Florida and played for the Baltimore Ravens.

POSITIVES: Explosive pass rushing defensive end who could have used one more season in college. Quickly gets off the ball with a nice first step, immediately alters his angle of attack and will flat10 then pursue the action from the backside with speed. Plays with good lean, hand technique and displays an inside move wedging between blockers. Reads the play and disciplined; defends the run as well as rushes the passer and relentless chasing the action. Effective fundamentals and techniques.

NEGATIVES: Tall and thin, overpowered at the point and has difficulty if teams run at him. Performed poorly at the Combine.

ANALYSIS: Needs to physically mature and more importantly stay focused on the field. Another year at Florida would have enhanced both his physical build and football skills which would have driven his draft stock upwards. Can be a productive player at the next level but may need some time, patience and repetition.

PROJECTION: Mid Third Round
