BIO: Three-year starter who caught 57 passes for 832 yards and six TDs last season after 50-890-8 in 2001 and 27-403-0 as a sophomore when he broke in with the first team.
POSITIVES: King sized receiver who displays a penchant for making the big play deep into the secondary. Big and strong, extends to pull the ball out of the air, out muscling or out positioning defenders for the throw. Comes back to the ball, stays focused, making the difficult catch in a crowd. Times and anticipates his deep receptions nicely and gets up vertically to make the catch with defenders draped on him. Possesses strong and soft hands. Effective running after the catch, breaking tackles and picking up positive yardage.
NEGATIVES: Lacks quickness, explosion as well as speed. Long receptions are based on Young finding the soft spot in the defense rather than out running opponents. Ran much better at the Scouting Combine than anyone thought but has more built up speed then sudden quickness.
ANALYSIS: Size and natural receiving skills make him enticing for a team that needs a big wide out to go over the middle and make the clutch catch on third down.
PROJECTION: Mid Third Round
