ERIC MANNING
Position: DT
Class: Sr
School: Oregon St.
Conference: Pac-10
Ht., Wt.: 6'1, 303
40 Time: 5.05
Grade: 3.63

BIO: Three-year starter and first team All-Conference selection both his junior and senior campaigns. Finished last season with 40 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 21/2 sacks after 28-6-3 the prior year and 31-13-2 as a red-shirt sophomore.

POSITIVES: Explosive interior lineman who can be used in the three-technique or on a rotational basis. Possesses a great first step off the snap, plays with forward lean, leverage and keeps chugging up the field. Beats defenders with a solid swim move, wedges through blockers and rarely off his feet. Immediately alters his angle of attack, redirects to the action and effective if asked to twist or stunt. Tenacious and keeps coming until the whistle blows.

NEGATIVES: Lacks bulk and height, engulfed by opponents or stood up at the point of attack. Wears down over the course of a game. Slow locating the action at times.

ANALYSIS: Leveled off after a spectacular sophomore campaign but to his credit came back with a good effort as a senior. Can be effective as a situational lineman at the next level and best if placed next to a wide body or used in the three technique.

PROJECTION: Late Third Round
