BIO: All-Conference selection as a senior after leading the team in tackles with 155, also totaling six tackles for loss, three sacks and breaking up one pass. Second-team All-Conference choice as a junior after 144-6-4 with a pair of pass defenses and INTs each. Four game starter as a sophomore posting 87 tackles and breaking up two passes. Used at both outside linebacker and on the inside in Virginia's 3-4 alignment. POSITIVES: Patient, disciplined linebacker who stays with the play and constantly makes plays on the ball. Quick moving up the field filling gaps, redirects well and gets through the traffic to the ball carrier. Breaks down well, plays with good body lean and holds his ground against blocks. Flows to the action getting depth on his pass drops and displays sideline-to-sideline range. Fluid changing direction and runs with tight ends in pass coverage. NEGATIVES: Not explosive or sudden, stymied at the point by blocks and has tackles broken. Out muscled for the ball by bigger opponents in pass coverage.
