Dillon skips first day of Bengals camp

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (AP) -- Cincinnati Bengals running back Corey Dillon was the only player under contract that failed to report to the team's opening day of training camp Sunday.

Dillon missed a flight and arrived at Georgetown College at about 11 p.m., Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said. Brennan did not say if Dillon would be fined.

After Dillon missed the team's 5 p.m. meeting, he and his agent could not be immediately reached.

In April, Dillon caused a stir when he skipped a voluntary minicamp to spend time with family. After promising to act differently in the future, Dillon practiced with the team in May and June.

Dillon is the team's career rushing leader and only the fourth player in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in each of his first six seasons.
