BIO: Played in eight games as a senior before being suspended from the team. Finished the year totaling 90/375/2 on the ground. Played the first four games of the 2002 season and posted 84/309/2 rushing before tearing a ligament in his right knee which sidelined him the rest of the season. Led the Pac-10 in rushing as a sophomore with 209/1,229/10. Posted a terrific freshman campaign of 138/666/5 on the ground. Had numerous run-ins at Arizona; originally suspended last spring for threatening to beat up his position coach. Known for outwardly arguing with coaches in the past.
POSITIVES: Physically gifted runner with great skill carrying the ball. Runs with power, tough to bring down and picks up the tough yards in critical situations. At the same time displays adequate footwork with the ability to sidestep defenders. Patient, waits for blocks to develop and quickly cuts back and avoids defenders. Deceptively fast outside of tackles. Improved his pass-catching skills last season.
NEGATIVES: Does too much east/west running rather than taking it up the field. Must improve his ball security and pick up the blocking intensity. Inconsistent effort and does a lot of standing around.
ANALYSIS: An undisciplined prospect, Farmer has seen many of his talents wasted because of his "me-first" attitude. When on his game, can be a feature back that's tough to stop. Still, a risk at this point and will only take well to certain types of coaches.
