BIO: Led the Gators on the ground as a senior, posting 119/595/6 while also catching 21/185/1. Backed up Earnest Graham the prior season, totaling 105/563/5 on the ground and adding 20/137/0 as a pass-catcher. Suffered through his senior season with a sore hamstring. Son of Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon.
POSITIVES: Tough, inside runner who picks up a lot of yardage off initial contact. Rumbles through the line, runs over defenders and falls forward when tackled. Sees the field, follows blocks and plays with an aggressive style. Finds the open lanes and works to pickup as much yardage as possible. Effective blocker in pass protection.
NEGATIVES: Lacks overall speed, explosion. Better in a straight line. Not an elusive ball-carrier who creates if nothing is available.
ANALYSIS: A team player that waited his turn at Florida, Carthon did an admiral job when handed the ball last season. Not spectacular in any single aspect of his game, yet a running back you can plug into different situations at the next level.
