BIO: Finished with 17/1/4 as a senior after being slowed by offseason hernia surgery. Junior totals included 18/0/10 after eight starts as a sophomore and 10 passes-defended.
POSITIVES: Confident, aggressive cornerback that makes a lot of plays on the ball. Fluid backpedaling off the line and explosive breaking to the play. Effective backed off the line of scrimmage, quick to recognize and possesses good ball skills. Runs laterally with receivers and makes plays in all areas of the field.
NEGATIVES: Not physical defending the run. Lacks the top size-speed numbers.
ANALYSIS: Well built for zone coverage, Burress started off slowly as a senior but had a strong finish by season's end. Has the skills to be an effective nickel back at the next level and should also stand out on special teams.
