BIO: Started five games as a senior last season in Alabama's rotational system and finished with numbers of 24/4/5. Played in twelve games in 2002 and posted 24/2/0.
POSITIVES: Big-bodied tackle with a good degree of underlying athleticism. Quick off the snap, displays good straight ahead power and a load in the middle. Gets penetration up the field when he keeps his pads low, shows a short burst of speed and explosion to his game.
NEGATIVES: Does not play with leverage, gets tall and makes himself an easy target for opponents. Overweight, poorly conditioned and gets sloppy with techniques. Has the propensity of ducking his head and bull-rushing up the field.
ANALYSIS: From a physical standpoint, Childress has the tools to develop into an NFL player. That said, he made a poor choice leaving college a year early and has an uphill battle ahead of him.
