BIO: LSU’s starting punter the past four seasons and averaged 42.4 yards on 65 punts with a long of 67 yards as a senior, placing 22 punts inside the 20 yard line with seven touchbacks. Net punting yardage last season was 39 yards. Averaged 44 yards on 64 punts as a junior with a long of 86 yards.
POSITIVES: Big-legged punter capable of flipping the field and pinning opponents deep in their own zone. Gets excellent hang time on punts, drives the ball downfield and effectively kicks into the wind.
NEGATIVES: Not quick getting the ball off his foot, inconsistent and not effective as a directional punter. Coming off a terrible performance at the Combine.
ANALYSIS: After a solid week at the Senior Bowl Jones took a major step back with his Combine performance. While that may have been an aberration, he needs technical work to improve his punting skills.
