Position:QB Class: Sr School:
San Jose St. Conference:
WAC Ht., Wt.: 6'1, 224 40 Time: 4.88 Grade: 3.39
BIO: Junior college transfer and all-academic choice last season with passing numbers of 59.7 percent/3,016/18/5. Junior totals were 61.2 percent/3,251/22 during his first season in the program.
POSITIVES: Smart, hard-working quarterback best in the short-passing game. Quickly sets to deliver the ball, stands strong in the pocket and takes a hit to get the pass off. Poised, sees the field and has a good sense of where receivers are. Puts touch on throws, times his release well, letting receivers run to the ball. Does not panic under pressure or make bad choices. Sells the ball fakes, fluid looking off the safety and buys time in the pocket. Very accurate between the hashes. One of the more accurate passers at the Combine.
NEGATIVES: Lacks stature in the pocket and the big arm. Cannot zip the outs or drive the ball downfield. Does not make plays with his legs.
ANALYSIS: An efficient passer that translates his classroom intelligent onto the football field, Rislov gets the most from his abilities. His sense of timing and accuracy in the short game lends one to believe he'll be a solid backup for a West Coast system.
