SWAC Ht., Wt.: 5'10½, 179 40 Time: 4.65 Grade: 2.74
BIO: Two-year starter used as a receiver and return specialist. Team's top wide out last season posting 50/770/8 after 66/1,077/7 the prior season when he averaged 9 yards on 13 punt returns.
POSITIVES: Elusive skill player best in the slot and on special teams. Displays good awareness, knows where he is on the field and goes over the middle to make the difficult catch. Remains focused, effective on the sidelines and gets up, then adjusts to the errant throw, pulling the pass out of the air. Finds the soft spot on the field and makes himself an available target for the quarterback.
NEGATIVES: More quick than fast and lacks the deep speed or ability to stretch the defense. Thin framed and not strong, which gives him difficulty getting off jams at the line of scrimmage or battling opponents for the pass in traffic.
ANALYSIS: A favorite target of Robert Kent the past two seasons, Manning is a solid prospect for the next level but one that must show well on special teams. His ability to impact as a punt returner next summer in camp will be the difference of whether or not he makes a final roster.
