BIO: Four-year starter that totaled 25/6/2 as a senior after playing only five games as a junior registering 8/4/2 before breaking his right hip. Broke out as a sophomore starting every game and produced 50/12/4. Gave serious consideration to entering the 2003 draft due to the necessity of helping to pay for his father's medical bills.
POSITIVES: Quick, interior defender that gives top effort. Plays with balance, gets off the line with a nice first step and breaks down well. Fluid changing direction, flexible and rarely off his feet.
NEGATIVES: Slow shedding blocks, easily moved from his angle of attack and rarely gets push up the field. Never seemed to regain form as a senior after the hip injury of 2002.
ANALYSIS: Goodwin is a high-motor player whose explosion off the snap gives opponents problems. Has limited growth potential and marginal upside for the next level but grades high in the areas of personal character.
