BIO: Former defensive tackle and a full-time starter the past two seasons. Second team all-conference selection as a senior and an all-academic choice in the past.
POSITIVES: Strong, athletic blocker with a good degree of upside for the next level. Quick off the snap, bends his knees and a leverage blocker that gets underneath opponents. Can shuffle or slide laterally, adjusts and effective on the second level. Strong at the point, walls defenders from the action and works to finish the play.
NEGATIVES: Lacks balance, body control and not light on his feet. Though strong, could improve the overall power of his base.
ANALYSIS: Considering he's only played the position for three seasons, Tate has made major gains on the offensive line and is a player with a high upside. May take some time to develop but a solid middle-round pick that could end up starting in the NFL by his second season.
