Position:RB Class: Sr School:
Nebraska Conference:
Big 12 Ht., Wt.: 5'10½, 200 40 Time: 4.61 Grade: 3.42
BIO: Special teams standout who became the team's feature back last season, finishing with 138/600/2 on the ground while averaging 8.9 yards on 29 punt returns and 25.9 yards on 23 kick returns. Averaged 23.7 yards on a school record 42 returns during his junior campaign, including 186 return yards against Kansas State, which was another school record.
POSITIVES: Quick, elusive back that vastly improved his ball-handling skills last season. Runs with vision, instincts and follows blocks. Patient, displays solid footwork in a small area and the ability to bounce around defenders. Has a burst through the hole and acceleration in the open field. Keeps his feet moving up the field, runs with good lean and falls forward when tackled. Fearless punt-returner that takes chances.
NEGATIVES: Lacks strength and does not break tackles. Marginally productive as a pass-catcher.
ANALYSIS: Answering the call as Nebraska's top running back last season, Davis added yet another element to his already explosive game. Will be drafted primarily as a change-of-pace runner whose main duties will be as a return specialist.
