BIO: Starter the past two seasons posting 68/9/4 as a senior after 54/11/3.5 the prior year. Began his career at tight end and has recently been tested by pro scouts at that position. POSITIVES: Athletic pass rusher that creates a lot of havoc in the opponents backfield. Quick off the snap, fluid changing direction and pursues from the backside with speed. Displays range and the ability to make plays in all directions. Redirects to oncoming ball carriers and wraps up at the point of attack. NEGATIVES: Lacks balance and an explosive first step off the snap. Controlled at the point by opposing tight ends. Did not seem to play with a sense of urgency as a senior. ANALYSIS: After a terrific junior campaign, Johnson did not elevate his game last season yet has the athletic skills to play at the next level. Solid late-round choice who can be used as a pass-rush specialist or possibly developmental tight end. PROJECTION: Early Seventh Round
