BIO: Played with injury problems the past two seasons suffering an ankle sprain early in his senior year and breaking his left fibula as a junior. Totaled just 18 tackles last year but did average 31.7 yards on 15 kick returns, including a 97-yard return for a score. Posted 38/2/8 the prior year after 54 tackles and 14 passes defended as a sophomore.
POSITIVES: Nice-sized defensive back that also impacts the game on special teams. Displays solid footwork back pedaling off the line, fluid in his hips and has solid playing speed. Explosive and fights hard in all aspects.
NEGATIVES: Has difficulty in man-to-man situations and does not show good reaction to the ball. Loses transitioning back to make a play on the pass. Durability is a question.
ANALYSIS: After two productive seasons early in his career injuries have taken the edge off of Waddell’s game. Injuries and a lack of durability are a concern but his tremendous Combine performance could save him in the draft.
