BIO: Named to several All-American teams and won all-conference honors as a senior after 83/2/6. Played in 13 games as a junior and finished with 32/2/2.
POSITIVES: Terrific athlete who improved the more playing time he received. Forceful run defender and takes opponents down with tackles. Good head for the ball and snuffs out running plays. Fast in all directions and displays a closing burst of speed. Solid skills in coverage, displaying the ability to backpedal, turn and read the action in either zone or man coverage.
NEGATIVES: Not overly efficient and takes incorrect angles to the play. Has not had a great amount of experience.
ANALYSIS: After finally getting his chance to play in 2003, Allen responded with a terrific season. Displaying the skills to be an all-around defensive back, he was effective covering the pass or defending the run and will eventually grow into an every-down starter at the next level in time.
