Big Ten Ht., Wt.: 6'3, 197 40 Time: 4.63 Grade: 3.24
BIO: Three-year starter who leaves college as the Big Ten career leader with 3,686 receiving yards and 265 career receptions. First team all-conference choice as a senior after catching 77/1150/4. Junior totals were 75/1,307/13 when he was named to the all-conference squad. Became a full-time starter as a true sophomore and registered 47/587/4. Numbers his first year with the team were 67/744/6, though he only started two of 12 games. Academic All-American the past two seasons.
POSITIVES: Ultra-productive collegiate wide out that benefits from the passing offense at Purdue. Technically sound in all aspects; shields opponents with his frame, extends and looks the ball into his hands. Uses the sidelines well, adjusts to the errant throw and pulls the tough grab from a crowd. Displays timing, focus and also reads defenses, finding the open spot on the field. Always on the same page as his quarterback.
NEGATIVES: Lacks the quick release off the line, only marginal route running skills and does not have the second gear or ability to get separation down the field. Not strong and loses out to bigger defensive backs. Could turn up the blocking intensity a few notches.
ANALYSIS: A terrific collegiate receiver who excelled on the football field and in the classroom, Standeford possesses only marginal size-speed numbers for the next level. Could catch on as a fifth wide out for a warm weather team that likes to throw the ball.
