BIO: First team all-conference choice as a senior after finishing with 100/7/6. Junior totals were 95/6/7 after 89/5/11 as a sophomore.
POSITIVES: Smart, active safety with a head for the ball. Quick diagnosing the action, plays alert football and constantly around the ball carrier. Intense and very aggressive in run support. Instinctive, but also efficient, and takes good angles to the action. Displays a straight-line burst of speed as well as hands for the interception. A team leader who directs the defense.
NEGATIVES: Lacks sideline-to-sideline range, recovery speed and struggles in man-to-man coverage situations. Stiff with only adequate feet and hips in pass defense.
ANALYSIS: A hard-working secondary prospect with solid size and speed, Reed has a good head for the position but must iron out the technical aspects of his game. Would be more effective in a two-deep cover scheme where his area responsibilities would be kept to a minimum.
