BIO: Productive backup the past three seasons who posted 20/336/2 as a senior after 30/383/2 the prior season and 29/435/5 as a sophomore. Academic All-Big 12 selection in the past.
POSITIVES: Role player in college who has the skills which translate well to the next level. Fluid releasing off the line, has a nice frame and uses it to shield defenders from the action. Makes the difficult reception in a crowd, adjusts for the errant throw and effective when he extends his hands to pluck the ball away from his frame. Possesses a burst of speed, runs adequate routes and displays solid body control. Elusive and strong running after the catch, keeps the play in bounds then works to pick up positive yardage.
NEGATIVES: Not a natural hand-catcher and lets the pass get inside him, clutching it against his frame. Has difficulty making the tough grab running full speed. Was never anything more than a complementary receiver at Texas.
ANALYSIS: A competitive prospect who plays with a lot of energy, Thomas was a victim of the numbers game on a Texas team loaded with quality receivers. Has the frame and athletic skills to be a solid second receiver for an NFL team and could turn into a steal during the middle rounds of April's draft.
