BIO: Four-year starter used at both inside and outside linebacker. Led the team with 167/14/1 as a senior after 133/13.5/3 the prior season. Numbers during his sophomore and freshman campaign were 98/6/2 and 94/14/3, respectively. Big East rookie of the year in 2000.
POSITIVES: Tough, intelligent linebacker with an aggressive temperament. Quick in his head, disciplined and very efficient. Plays with an intense motor, constantly in the right position and always looks to get involved. Holds his ground against blocks, hard hitting and wraps up tackling. Fiery leader of the defense.
NEGATIVES: Marginal skills in pass coverage. Only a short burst of speed and does not show much range.
ANALYSIS: A vocal leader and fiery competitor, Wiley’s playing style dictates middle linebacker as his best position, though he’s built more for the weak-side. A very good backup at the next level that should be a demon on special teams.
