BIO: All-conference selection as a senior after posting 63/16.5/5.5. Junior totals were 77/6/1 after 46/13/10 during his sophomore campaign.
POSITIVES: Athletic defensive end that must now learn to play in space. Breaks down well, plays with good pad level and rarely off his feet. Displays a decent head for the game and a nice closing burst to the action. Balanced, adjusts off the initial hit and deceptively strong.
NEGATIVES: Lacks the great first step for an undersized pass rusher and engulfed at the point by bigger linemen. consistently sent up the field in college and rarely used off the line.
ANALYSIS: Based on his computer numbers, McNeil has the athletic abilities to make the adjustment at linebacker but must make a mark on special teams to stick on a final roster next September. At the very least a prospect for NFL Europe who could develop down the road.
