BIO: All-conference selection as a senior and SIAC Player of the Year after rushing numbers of 168/735/6. Finished his junior season among the national leaders in rushing and scoring, totaling 252/1,384/18 on the ground. Named to several all-conference and All-American teams in 2002 and named the top offensive player in the SIAC. Ran poorly at the Combine but reportedly was suffering from a hernia and will be retested in April.
POSITIVES: Tough, interior ball carrier who runs well between the tackles. Displays good vision, instincts and has the strength to consistently pound the ball on the inside. Breaks tackles, picking up yardage off initial contact and carries the pile. Gives effort and gets results blocking. Competitive and goes hard in all aspects.
NEGATIVES: Lacks the speed and quickness to get around the corner. Rarely used as a pass-catcher out of the backfield with only marginal hands.
ANALYSIS: Consistently productive in college, Croson has been one of the better players on a small school level. That said, he is a one-dimensional ball carrier with a straight ahead, run 'em-over style that may not translate well to the next level.
