MIKE WALKER
Position: TE
Class:
School: Minnesota-Morris
Conference: Northern Sun
Ht., Wt.: 6'4, 254
40 Time: 4.84
Grade: 3.34

BIO: Two-year starter who led the team in receiving as a senior posting 40/765/6 after a junior campaign of 43/467/2. Team's field goal kicker in 2002. Graduated high school in 1997 and has since bounced around from program to program. Off the field incidents include aggravated assault and several D.U.I.'s.

POSITIVES: Athletic, pass-catching tight end that's been a loose cannon up until recently. Quick in all aspects of his game, runs well and adjusts nicely to make the deep reception. Fluid, possesses natural hands and not afraid to go over the middle then make the difficult catch in a crowd. Makes plays into the defensive secondary and generally does a good job catching the ball. Gives effort blocking, stays square and likes physical contact. Works to finish blocks and adequate strength at the point.

NEGATIVES: Still rough around the edges and at times tries to do too much. Has a lot of off the field baggage and was dismissed from prior programs for being in trouble.

ANALYSIS: An athletic prospect with a good amount of upside, Walker is starting to fulfill his potential and become a disciplined player both on or off the field. Still rough around the edges, he's worked hard to get his life in order the past two seasons and as a result has matured into a good football player. A nasty competitor that works in every aspect of the tight end position, Walker is worth the risk of a late-round choice.

PROJECTION: Late Sixth Round
