BIO: Started eight games last season totaling 55/845/4. Also averaged 13.1 yards on 8 punt returns. Played at Arizona the previous three seasons, posting a career high 61/915/3 as a junior in 2002.
POSITIVES: Quick, athletic receiver best in the slot. Immediately gets off the line of scrimmage, runs solid routes and gets separation from opponents. Finds the soft spot in the defense, comes back to the ball and works to make the tough catch in traffic. Adjusts well to the errant throw and effective running after the catch. Displays elusive footwork and the ability to make defenders miss, skills used returning punts.
NEGATIVES: Not big or strong and slow getting off jams at the line. Lacks the deep speed or second gear. Tends to do more body-catching rather than extending to pull the ball out of the air.
ANALYSIS: A dangerous threat handling the ball, Thurman makes a lot of athletic plays on the field. Stood out at the Blue-Gray game where he was one of the best receivers in attendance and while marginal size-speed numbers will cause him to slip into the later rounds, has a chance to catch on as a team's third receiver.
